Sujatha Srinivasan

“Communicating without Words: Rhythm and Mime”
LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS ARTIST!
PROGRAM DETAILS
Communication comes in many forms. When animals and birds spring out of your hands, when bees hover over blooming flowers, and when mere glances of the eye express excitement or dissapointment…communication is born. Discover the power and energy of rhythmic movement or the magic of mime when stories come alive in dance. See, feel, and experience the joy of wordless communication.
ARTIST DETAILS
With over 15 years of experience, Sujatha Srinivasan specializes in the highly stylized and vigorous classical Indian dance form called Bharathanatyam. One of the most popular and well established classical dance forms of India, Bharathanatyam consists of dance movements, mime, melodic music, rhythm, colorful costumes and jewelry. Sujatha’s skills as a choreographer, performer and teacher allow her to make this unique art form accessible, entertaining and enlightening to students while educating them about the Indian culture. Sujatha has danced internationally and locally at the Cleveland Museum of Art and Kent State University.
