| This hands-on workshop uses the creation of mosaics as a vehicle to reinforce the teaching of symmetry. Symmetry is a component of math and geometry and also relates to science through crystalline structures in minerals and to world history through the art of Mediterranean civilizations. Includes teacher guide, PowerPoint presentation and follow-up projects. |

George Woideck trained as a painter with time off to tour as a rock musician. He began his full-time career as a ceramic artist in 1975. Since then he has been an artist-in-residence in schools throughout Ohio and Michigan. George was named National Young Audiences Artist of the Year in 2001. He also presents ceramic workshops for the Teacher Resource Center of the Cleveland Museum of Art. His studio work has been displayed in numerous local and national exhibitions.
