Susan Weber

“A Buckeye Picnic: Ohio Story”
LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS ARTIST!
PROGRAM DETAILS
Susan Weber’s handcrafted quilt depicting Ohio’s people, geography, and official symbols is the backdrop for her interactive stories and songs. Ohioans of diverse cultures come to life in students’ imaginations along a rich timeline of the state's heritage. Susan’s stories begin with Native American and European settlers and continue with canal diggers, farmers, entrepreneurs, freedom fighters, immigrants and astronauts. Students listen and respond through movement, imitation, sound effects and voice to stories of people who made a difference in Ohio’s development.
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING

Dear Ms. Weber,

Thank you for coming to our classroom.  It was so much fun!  I like history, but it is a lot more fun when it is in a story.  I enjoyed the audience involvement.  I would love to ride on a canal.  The costumes were awesome! It was amazing how you could make your voice talk in so many accents.  I hope I have this experience again.

Sincerely,

Hannah, 4th grader at Fairfax Elementary, Cleveland Heights
