Wayne Sheppard
About the artist
Wayne Sheppard is an artist/educator with 35 years classroom experience in public and private schools working with students grades K-12. He is a multi-media instructor who has taught photography and television production, and has directed student cultural exchanges with art/environmental science/Spanish language students (grades 5-university level) in Costa Rica, and numerous times in Mexico. As an artist Wayne has completed numerous commissions, including Rock Aid For the World, for Guitarmania II for the Cleveland Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a large scale enameled porcelain on steel mural; Enlightenment Heals for the Firestone Park Branch Library in Akron; an enameled relief sculpture of a resplendent quetzal for the QERC (Quetzal Education Research Center), San Gerardo de Dota, Costa Rica. Wayne received his BFA from Ohio State University in drawing, painting and printmaking, his BS in Art Ed degree and LSM Master’s degree from Kent State University.
